Clever Clasp claims to answer the call when it comes to one big frustration. It’s supposed to save you from fumbling around trying to get your necklaces on and off. If you’re not the most dexterous person, have carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis this product might make it a little easier for you. I wondered if Clever Clasp would actually work for really dainty necklaces and bracelet clasps. Those are the worst! Here’s a Clever Clasp video review to show you how it all works.
What Does Clever Clasp Come With?
- Four sets of clasps - 2 silver tone and 2 gold tone. You can add a little extra length to your necklaces with two - 3 inch extenders they give you as a bonus. They include 1 silver tone and 1 gold tone extender.
- There are two magnets that attach to the ends of your necklace or bracelet. You can also lock the clasp after the magnets are together. This can be done by spinning an attached cylinder around the magnets.
- You can buy these either CVS or Rite Pharmacy or online from the Clever Clasp site.
Advantages
- The magnets are very strong. You could actually leave the necklace secured only by the magnets.
- Extenders are included in case your chains or necklaces are too short.
- The clasps can be transferred from one necklace to another.
- It’s nice to have the safety feature so you can lock the clasp in place. Not all magnetic clasps have this but Clever Clasp does.
Disadvantages
Some ladies found this product not so helpful when it’s used as a bracelet clasp. This is due to the fact that it’s difficult to spin the locking mechanism open and closed with one hand. You may need help to remove a bracelet secured by a clever clasp.- It also makes bracelets so big that they slide off your wrist.
- The clasps are quite heavy and you may find your clasp hanging down in front.
- The extensions look cheap.
- If the chains on your necklaces are thin you might have to add a larger ring onto your necklace in order to get the Clever Clasp to fit.
- One Jeweler mentioned that if you have heavier jewelry it would be great to use Clever Clasp. Although, if you use thin gold or platinum necklaces, this product might not be good for you. In this case she recommends looking into a standard magnetic clasp through a local jeweler.
- It adds more length to my bracelet which may cause it to slip right off your wrist.
- It can be equally frustrating attaching Clever Clasp to your jewelry.
- Comment from Mary in Michigan - “I tried these in hopes that they would work for my necklaces that have such tiny eyelets and hook ends. Didn’t work, the Clever Clasp ends were too big to go through the tiny eyelet and hook ends. Also they seemed quite heavy.”
Clever Clasp overall is getting mixed feedback. Most ladies found the clasps to be very easy for necklaces but not bracelets. The magnet although they aren’t good for fine and tiny necklaces….If your curious about what ladies are saying about the Buxton Bag, please visit my Buxton Bag review.

I bought a set of these. I never wore my Jewelry except on the weekends because I or my husband would fumble with it for five or ten minutes. I now am able to wear my jewelry and not become late for work.
I love them so much that I just bought over a hundred packages for the rest of my jewely and family and friends!
