Youthful Essence is part of Susan Lucci’s skin care regimen!  She is looking as beautiful as ever on Dancing with the Stars! Can you believe she is 62 years old? Every week she works on All My Children on the East Coast then flys back to LA for the show. Unbelievable!

On the last show she fractured two bones in her foot and still kept dancing.  I don’t know how she does it. Finally Susan is letting loose and enjoying her dance. I really enjoyed this episode of her doing the hustle with Tony. Isn’t the wardrobe on that show amazing? How they match up hair accessories, jewelery and outfits together like that.

Susan is well known for her scheming temptress role Erica Kane.  She is also well known for her pilates video series and of course her skin care product Youthful Essence. She’s been on the Home Shopping Network for years.

What is Youthful Essence?

Its basically a microdermabrasion kit. It includes an exfoliator brush with sponge and exfoliating cream. The brush is really unique because it vibrates really fast in a circular motion which really works in the cream. The exfoliator cream has mineral crystals in it. The effects are radiant skin and refined pores by polishing the top layer of dead skin cells. I’ve bought one of these years ago and never regretted it!

Cons

• Some find the crystals difficult to rinse off.
• Some skin types do not see a reduction of fine lines.
• I have heard from several consumers say that their acne prone skin got worse with this product.
• The benefit of Youthful Essence is that it helps to exfoliate the skin and unclog pores, which hopefully keeps the skin clear and prevents future breakouts, but results may vary with each individual.

Handy Tips

1. When you order online you get auto ship  every 60 days on the microdermabrasion cream. I find that the cream lasts me 4 months so I would request them not to put you on the auto ship program.
2. If your having trouble rinsing the crystals off, its better to do the microdermabrasion at the sink and then rinse it off in the shower.
3. If you find that the crystals irritate your skin, try  to only spend 1-2 minutes on the area being treated and use less pressure when massaging your skin with the resurfacing tool.
4. You can now “Create a Kit” which means  you can mix and match up to 8 of your favorite Youthful Essence Products. They’ve expanded their product line to include different types of microdermabrasion cream and skin care products, hand and body care etc.

Susan recommends using your personal microdermabrasion system all over your body just like she does. It takes around 2-4 minutes a day. Try this easy  daily regimen.

Youthful Essence can be overused and can irritate your skin. They advise you to follow a regimen like this one.

• Week One - Begin using your entire Youthful Essence Personal Microdermabrasion System daily for 2-4 minutes a treatment for 4-5 days in a row. If you have sensitive skin, begin by using the system for just 2-4 days in the first week.

• Week Two -Let your skin rest this week. Do not use your Resurfacing Tool and Cream for the next 5 days. This allows your skin to rejuvenate during this time.
