The Grater Plater was featured on the Pitchmen Show back in July. I never actually saw that episode but I guess both Billy and Sully had a head to head competition trying to outperform each other for ratings. No surprise that loud mouth Billy won. I’m wondering, is it really all that revolutionary of an invention to have made it on the show? I’m sure I’ve seen similar products already on the market. Anyways, the makers claim that its an innovative grater system that lets you grate and serve things like garlic and cheese all in the same dish.

Egg Genie – A Revolutionary New Egg Cooker?
October 25th, 2009 · 5 Comments
Egg Genie is an electric egg cooker that allows you to steam cook your eggs perfectly in a matter of minutes. I kind of laughed at first when I saw this. Come on now, really… how hard is it to cook an egg? After checking out a few video reviews, I do see a potential use for Egg Genie especially if you’ve got to cook up a large number of eggs in record time for a family meal or large gathering. I admit…sometimes it can be kind of tricky timing them just right. They either come out cracked with egg whites streaming out after you boil them or too soggy or over cooked etc etc. Ok maybe this new fangled egg cooker really can make our lives a bit easier in the kitchen.

Does The Perfect Brownie Pan Work Just Like in the Infomercial?
September 19th, 2009 · 13 Comments
The Perfect Brownie Pan is been touted as a brand new product but it looks like they’ve just renamed the Slice Solutions Brownie Pan. They may be testing different marketing methods by rebranding and renaming it. Well the infomercial definitely got me drooling of those ooey gooey brownies. Darn it I hate it when they do that…If you love to bake from scratch and you make those sticky squares like rice crispy treats, bar cookies etc than this is a really neat baking pan for keeping those treats perfectly square and easy to pull out of the pan.

EuroSealer Works Great But With One Tiny Catch
September 14th, 2009 · No Comments
The Eurosealer is a kitchen gadget that looks promising enough. If you have hungry kids you know how they love to leave opened bags of food lying around in the cupboard. Well, Euro Sealer also claims you can buy food in bulk and reseal the large bags over and over again. No more worrying about food going stale. Actually there’s one little catch that you need to know for this thing to work like it’s supposed to.

The Flat Fold Colander Saves Cabinet Space and Actually Works!
September 13th, 2009 · No Comments
The Flat Fold Colander is a large capacity colander that folds up for easy storage. I really hate having to have separate sized colanders for different foods. Like one for the lettuce, one for the rice and beans and another for the veges and taters. So could this fancy new colander put our old standard strainers to shame?

Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker Enjoyed by Kids
July 14th, 2009 · 3 Comments
The Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker promises that you can “have a ball” then end up with a delicious home made ice cream treat. Geeze, just when you thought making ice cream was old hat… Can you imagine, working for your dessert? No need for electricity… Just add ice cream mix in one end and ice and rock salt in the other. Then “have a ball” so they say. You literally toss in the ingredients and throw the ball around until the ice cream is made. This is better left to the kids, shaking it, passing it around and rolling it.

Watch Your Fingers When Using the Razor Sharp Titan Peeler
July 12th, 2009 · No Comments
The Titan Peeler looks so slick when you watch those infomercial guys using it. “Hmmm now how do we go about hyping up this boring ol peeler” the marketing group must be asking themselves. Oh and by the way, there are very similar looking products out there. There’s the Samurai Peeler which they have renamed the Samurai Speed Peeler. What creative geniuses they are! Taking a closer look they are slightly different peelers. It looks like the Titan peeler does more…They market it with a garnish guide and they claim it can peel, shred, grate, garnish, slice, shave and julienne. Whereas the Samurai Peeler is basically just a peeler.

Do You Really Save Time Using the Samurai Peeler?
July 11th, 2009 · No Comments
Samurai Peeler is one of many kitchen gadgets by the infamous Chef Tony. You might remember him from the those Miracle Blades infomercials in the late 80s, and lately with his Smart Lidz. In this video review, Chef Mark Alfano of Alfano’s Restaurant uses the Samurai Speed Peeler in his daily routine, cutting up various vegetables for his sauces and soup stock.
