The Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker promises that you can “have a ball” then end up with a delicious home made ice cream treat. Geeze, just when you thought making ice cream was old hat… Can you imagine, working for your dessert? No need for electricity… Just add ice cream mix in one end and ice and rock salt in the other. Then “have a ball” so they say. You literally toss in the ingredients and throw the ball around until the ice cream is made. This is better left to the kids, shaking it, passing it around and rolling it.

Watch Your Fingers When Using the Razor Sharp Titan Peeler

The Titan Peeler looks so slick when you watch those infomercial guys using it. “Hmmm now how do we go about hyping up this boring ol peeler” the marketing group must be asking themselves. Oh and by the way, there are very similar looking products out there. There’s the Samurai Peeler which they have renamed the Samurai Speed Peeler. What creative geniuses they are! Taking a closer look they are slightly different peelers. It looks like the Titan peeler does more…They market it with a garnish guide and they claim it can peel, shred, grate, garnish, slice, shave and julienne. Whereas the Samurai Peeler is basically just a peeler.

Bacon Wave has got a new name…it’s now the Bacon Magic Wave. Oooh Ahhhh! It looks like there’s a whole slew of these bacon cooking gadgets on the market. A lot of them look and sound kind of ridiculous. There’s the Makin’ Bacon, the Bacon Tray and the Wow Bacon Microwave Cooker. Of course, the biggest hassle cooking up bacon is the grease splatter and the messy pan cleanup plus the bacon sometimes doesn’t get uniformly cooked. Micro Grill is yet another infomercial product that tries to find another use for your microwave. It’s almost like the makers of these “as seen on TV” products haven’t moved past their 1975 fascination with the microwave. Right there on the box it says the Micro Grill “transforms your microwave into a turbo-charged grilling machine.” “Complete meals in under seven minutes,” it says it “works in any microwave.” We’ll see about that! Do you really want to “barbecue” your meat in the microwave all year round? Sounds a little disturbing…
