Probably the best thing you can use on stubborn, caked on stains on the bottom of kitchen pans is Easy-Off oven cleaner.

I would suggest using the gentle but improved formula. It works better on grease with less fumes and harsh smell. But use gloves!

Simply spray Easy-Off oven cleaner on your dry pans, let the spray sit for the recommended time, and clean. Also, you may have to repeat this process one or more times to get the full results for pans with the most aged and caked on stains.

Happy cleaning! And remember to wear gloves and keep your kitchen well ventilated when doing this job. Also, a face mask coupled with trying not to breath in the fumes as much as possible is recommended. Keep Easy-Off oven cleaner away from children and pets.

Additionally, do NOT mix Easy-Off oven cleaner with any other chemicals or cleaning agents. And keep canisters away from open flames, excessive heat, and/or cold.

I purchased these cleaning tablets from a mail order catalog company. However, all of my pans that need this sort of detailing are too large to fit inside my kitchen sink, handles and all, because I have two small side-by-side sinks rather than one large sink. Instead, I used a large plastic tub for soaking each pan with a tablet and hot water. After letting each pan soak for the recommended time, I noticed almost no improvement in any of my pans and so I phoned the catalog company - the rep explained that the tablets are not meant for pan bottoms made of aluminum or alloys. She refunded my money but not the shipping cost.

I have used grease bullet several times to clean the steel burners on my stove. Yes it does not work if you use it as the directions say. But if you have the time, place the item to be cleaned it a large pot of boiling water with at least 2 grease bullet tablets. Let the items boil for about 30 minutes. Using a wire brush watch the baked on grease come off very easily. Boil a little more if needed for burnt on stains. I LOVE THIS AND AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING IT BECAUSE OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.
