These old TV commercials are so hilarious I just had to put these two videos up for you. I’m sorry the video quality isn’t that great but I thought these two products are so incredibly tacky I just had to show them to you.
Remember when it was so cool to make ornamental art out of old bottles and even ice? Can you imagine…back in the good ol days we probably thought these gifts were really cool. These two As Seen on TV products were always on before Christmas just like the Clapper and Chia Pet are now.
Old TV Commercial with Ornamental Ice
Now how many times can you possibly say ornamental ice in a infomercial? I get it! It’s ornamental ice….we remember the name! Everything is so much better with ornamental ice.
http://honestinfomercialreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/video/ice_ornament/ice_ornament.flvFreeze water in the mold and look! Just like magic… ornamental ice! Everything looks sooo much more scrumptious, delectable and irresistible. Everything look so wonderful and beautiful. Put a fish and a porpoise on your table to make a beautiful, elegant table setting.
Old TV Commercial with the Ronco Bottle and Jar Cutter
If you were wondering what Ronco was…Ron Popeil was the founder of As Seen on TV products and this was his company name. He put out a whole slew of [tags]old tv commercial[/tags]products back in the 70s and 80s. Before the idea of recycling was around, Ron Popeil wanted to help the environment in his own special way. His new invention claimed to turn any glass or bottle into 1000s of cool hobby art projects.
http://honestinfomercialreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/video/glass_and_bottles/glass_and_bottles.flv"The greatest gift you will ever give!" Yeah right. Yes the whole family can get into the act too. Imagine all the junky looking art you’ll have lying around the house. Your new glass art projects just ended up looking like discarded bottles and glassware without the tops. Neato! Gonna run out and buy one of these. I’m hoping the emery board worked good enough so no one actually sliced their mouth on the new glasses they made. I love the way they display it at the end on shag carpet. Ha!Ha!
These old TV commercials kind of make you wonder, what in the world were we thinking back then? I’m thinking these products probably ended up in the hobby graveyard. And we actually thought this stuff was a great Christmas gift! Wanna check out another funny commercial? Introducing the Tiddy Bear... what a great invention that is!
