Okay, so I'm not biased in any way, and have used both products, and in my humble blanket-based opinion, I'd say that the Slanket wins hands down. Why? Because it is harder wearing, stands up better to cycles in the washing machine, it has thicker material, and it collects less static.

Just personal opinion :)

Greetings and Aloha All,
You say a snuggli, and He says a slanket, doesn't matter, we made our own. With Pockets for stuff. We took two twin flannel sheets and used a caftan pattern, we just made the bottom long and created our all purpose, and we have zip lock bags of goodies too, in the pockets, coverall. We used velcro at the bottom so that you can have it closed when you are on your comfy chair, and open when you need to get up for urgent matters. We have even used patchwork to create the patchwork kimono snugglie/slanket ( love the velcro and pockets). You can whip one up pretty quickly and your kids, friends, grandkids, etc. who live in places where it isn't warm with tradewinds year round will love you and take care of you in your old age.
Basically think of a large rectangle with pockets ( you gotta have a place for your stuff) and sleeves, with velcro to close the bottom and voila you are good to go. Doesn't matter your size (We made several out of king size flannel sheets for a friend in North Dakota) Just get your flannel, fleece, patches, etc. fire up the sewing machine and hot chocolate and make your own. Cashmere, fleece, flannel, knitted, crocheted socks are a nice addition to the snuggli/slanket whatever you want to call it.
Be Peaceful, Warm, and Prosper

I'm not slandering the Snuggie! I try to be unbiased and over the past year, examining both pros and cons of the Snuggie vs Slanket debate, the Slanket is coming out on top! All comments are welcome. :)

seems like this site is solely to slander snuggie and make them sound terrible so you go and buy a slanket. I wonder who runs this webpage? I wonder if the comment will make it to the comment boards?

I got my Slanket last Sunday at Marshall's for (get this) $8.99 and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! It's thick, plush and soooo soft. They only had two left and now I wish I had bought the other. I wanted one for my husband, also, but the only color left was hot pink :o). I found a "Cozy Wrap" for him at another store, which I imagine is comparable to a Snuggie because it's lighter weight and not plush at all. It reminds me of a soft , thin felt. As for complaints about the Snuggies, Slankets, etc not having backs...that's what robes are for, theses wraps are intended to be worn sitting or reclining and used as a blanet, but with the convenience of arms. I do agree that they should have at least a "latch" of sorts in the back to hold them on if we do get up for something.

I'm very disappointed in the Snuggy, it doesn't have a back, so it keeps falling off, it's only useful if you're lying down.

Allie, I know I agree the Snuggie is not all it's cracked up to be. I can't believe there's so much hype about this thin little blanket it's ridiculous! Doesn't even keep you warm.

I got a Snuggie last night, and it was very thin, not very warm. Our home has no heat right now, and the Snuggie didn't help at all with keeping me warm. I have now had my mom go and get me a Slanket in hopes that it works better.
