Gift shopping ideas for Valentines Day can be inexpensive yet still be memorable.  Most of us think cheap equals tacky. No not so! Want to Make Your Own Valentines Day Gifts?

Here are some inexpensive ideas that are both simple, easy and fun. (Enlarge those videos - it looks way better!)

1.  Write love notes on special leftover Christmas ribbon - First write some love notes on it with a black Sharpie pen.  Then use a red envelope and leave a bit of ribbon peeking out.

2. Use sentimental items from trips - For a special touch, how about using a seashell that you both found on the beach to make a fortune cookie valentine? Start with a pretty ribbon, write a love letter on it, roll it up and stick in inside a seashell. Leave a bit of ribbon sticking out. Then as it unspools it reveals your love note.  I love this idea!

3. You can make your own Valentines in a tissue box -You write on each tissue by opening up the side of the box, write on each one, and stick them back in. Each pop up tissue has an ‘I love you message.’

4. Make a unique homemade Valentine - You can go to the crafts store, get some foam core and something fun to decorate around the border. Then write on the foam core and you’ve got a big homemade valentine.

5. Paint a personal Valentine - Finally, if you’re the artsy type, go to an art supply store, get a canvas, and paint your personalized Valentines card.

Anyone buying flowers for Valentines Day always thinks of buying a dozen red roses. They are always the most expensive. What if you want to save a little money. What if your love isn’t traditional?  You can think outside the box with these flower bouquet ideas.

1.  Go with your loved ones favorite flowers - If you know your sweetie’s favorite flower you can pick up a bunch of them in an assortment of colors.

2.  Choose a bouquet of her favorite color -  This is great when you don’t know your loved ones favorite flower. So get a bouquet that’s uses her favorite color with different kinds of flowers.

4.  Try a hand-tied bouquet -  It’s a unique and portable way to say “I Love You” with flowers.

Gift shopping ideas like these actually a nice change from the standard Valentines Day cards and chocolates. It’s just something different yet very thoughtful.
